Victoria is Australia’s Garden state, also known as the Gold Rush state and the capital of the south. It encompasses mountains, national parks, wineries and surfing beaches. An area of over 227,000 square kilometres, with a population of 6.5 million, dominated by Melbourne and the Port Phillip Bay area. The state is also comprising of the two former Gold Rush areas, Bendigo and Ballarat, together with The Great Ocean Road area, Geelong, Mallee Western Victoria, Hume North Victoria and Gippsland Eastern Victoria with the Victorian side of the Snowy Mountains.
